A new chapter for 3D-printed housing

36 student homes in Holstebro, Denmark. Built by 3DCP Group, designed by SAGA Space Architects and completed in 2026.

Skovsporet brings 3D concrete printing into everyday life. Six clusters of six homes form a student village, with shared courtyards and private places to retreat. The printed walls remain visible, alongside warm timber and generous daylight.

Functional spaces

Each apartment makes room for a kitchen, study area, lounge, bathroom and double bed. The six-home clusters give the development a smaller, more personal scale.

Interior composition

Exposed concrete layers meet plywood panels and built-in shelving. Large windows connect the rooms to the outdoors, while skylights bring daylight deeper into the homes. Selected apartments use the roof height to create a loft.

Village atmosphere

The homes offer different degrees of privacy: an individual apartment, a place outside with close neighbours, and larger shared spaces between clusters. The layout makes community part of everyday life.

Behind the build

Printing homes at scale

For 3DCP Group, Skovsporet takes concrete printing beyond the prototype. Digital designs become full-size walls on site, bringing architects, engineers and print operators together around the construction of 36 homes.

Material testing

Most of Skovsporet was printed using D.fab concrete containing FUTURECEM. Selected elements, including the bicycle shed, use cement-free concrete developed by 3DCP Group with MEVOcem. The development was funded by Innovation Fund Denmark.
